Actor and business personality Blake Lively expressed her dismay in a light-hearted manner about the “photoshop fail” of Kate Middleton – confirming on Friday from Prince of Wales, after undergoing cancer treatment.
“I’m sure no one cares today, but I feel like I have to acknowledge this,” Lively said in a message shared on her Instagram account on Friday. “I made a silly post about the photoshop craze, and oh boy, that post has let me down today. I apologize. Sending everyone love and good wishes always.”
On March 15th, Lively had posted a humorous edited image promoting her Betty Buzz beverage line, showing herself holding a can of Betty Booze with her finger up against the rim of the can and a lemon hovering over her head (and perhaps the chair seat detached from her back). In the deleted Instagram post, Lively wrote, “I’m so excited to share this new picture taken just today for my 4 new @bettybuzz and @bettybooze products! Now you know why I’m M.I.A.!”
A visual mishap referencing the British royal family was made in a picture released on March 10th by the royal family, showing Middleton and her three children, prompting AP and other news agencies to remove the image from their services. Middleton later admitted, “Like many enthusiastic photographers, I sometimes dabble in editing too.” The controversy sparked speculation about Middleton’s absence from public view for an extended period, with prominent figures such as Jamie Campbell and Jimmy LeCurtis calling on people to respect Middleton’s privacy.
In a video statement released on Friday, Middleton said that her cancer diagnosis came after abdominal surgery and that she is now in the “early stages” of chemotherapy. Middleton said in the video, “These past two months have been incredibly tough for our entire family, but I have an amazing medical team who has taken great care of me, for which I am very grateful.”
