Manchester City on the Verge of Premier League Glory After Dramatic Win over Tottenham

London EnglandManchester City was closer to their dream of a fourth consecutive Premier League title with a tough 2-0 victory against Tottenham Hotspur on Tuesday. This victory will put them once again in the lead over the rivals Arsenal heading into the last match day of the season.

Erling Haaland, the unstoppable City force, was the hero once again, scoring a double (two goals). His first was in the second half with the help of Kevin De Bruyne, his usual partner in crime. The second goal was a last-minute penalty that gave the victory, awarded after Jérémy Doku was sent off in the box.

The victory was not easy for the City. Tottenham tried very hard especially in the last few minutes. A superb stop from their goalkeeper, Guglielmo Vicario, blocked Heung-min Son’s potential equalizer just minutes before Haaland’s penalty.

This victory at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is more important than ever as City had never won or even scored a Premier League goal there since its opening in 2019. Currently, Haaland is the first City player who has lifted the curse that has been around for a long time.

At the same time City is celebrating, Tottenham’s Champions League dreams are destroyed. This loss proves their worth for the Europa League next season. The last Champions League place will be taken by Aston Villa.

Arsenal, who were wishing for a bit of support from Tottenham, will now have to fight for the title on the last day on their own. They have had a great second half of the season, however, the comeback by City could be the reason of their heartbreak after they have almost reached the final.

The city, on the contrary, are famous for their finishing power. Through 22 Premier League games unbeaten, the team of Pep Guardiola is a perfectly functioning machine on a mission. Do they maintain their lead and win the title, or will Arsenal come up with a last-minute miracle? All eyes will be on the final matchday of the season!
