Inter Milan concedes draw against Cagliari, but could be champion in the Milan derby

Inter Milan conceded the draw against Cagliari (2-2) to Giuseppe Meazza during the 32nd day of Serie A. Simone Inzaghi’s team could be crowned from the 33rd day if they win the Milan derby on the 22 April, but can no longer beat the points record.

Inter Milan, like AC Milan earlier this Sunday April 14, had to settle for the point of the draw (2-2) against Cagliari at Giuseppe Meazza during the 32nd day of the Italian Championship. Simone Inzaghi’s team missed the opportunity to increase their lead over AC Milan to 16 points, but with their 14 point lead, they could be crowned on the 33rd day if they win the Milan derby on April 22.

Inter, deprived of their suspended Argentinian striker Lautaro Martinez and French defender Benjamin Pavard, led twice, first thanks to Marcus Thuram (12′), then thanks to Hakan Calhanoglu from the penalty spot (74′). But Cagliari came back each time first through Eldor Shomurodov (64′), then through Nicolas Viola (83′).

After this draw, Simone Inzaghi’s team can no longer beat the record for points scored in a Serie A season, owned by Juventus Turin since 2013-14 with 102 points.
